U2 recorded live at the Glendale Arena in Arizona on the 15th ofApril 2005 during the bands Vertigo tour. Glendale Arena is a niceplace for concerts and at the floor they have staff selling beerand they have a tunnel entrance with it's own bathroom. You neverhave to leave the floor for anything. Well laid out and relativelygreat sound too. In other words a really beautiful place. Bono'svoice was strong after a multi day layoff and the band was ascomfortable and had put togher a set list that rocked and the crowdwent off. Watching the Edge work his way through the songs oneafter the other was amazing. To see the concentration in his faceas he plays the very complicated task of being the mission controlfor U2. He definitely speaks with his guitar and not his emotions.Just a true scientist at work. This became apparent when hiswireless system went out more than once. The worse being beforeSunday Bloody Sunday when Larry kicked into the drum cadence andEdge locked in twith the guitar only to have no sound. Out comesDallas with a backup cord...nothing.....Larry keeps the beat goingextending it out......second back up cord seems like forever butits plugged in by Dallas....bam didn't miss a beat hit the openingcords and we were off again.....what a veterean band...they didn'teven flinch. Adam has become Bono's right hand. Adam has not onlybroken out of his shell but has torn it down. Acknowledging thecrowd personally. Huge smile on his face as he worked around andmade eye contact. And who's idea was it to play Yahweh from theEclipse? Adam's, as I saw him speak into Bono's ear and then Bono'snod before they gathered for the treck to the tip. No more campingout to Larry's left all night the man is now a true showman. Majorprops to Adam. This was a perfect night and the band must hae addedat least one extra song to the set as the show lasted 2:10 minutesor so. As compared to the normal 2 hour to the minute set of pastshows. The boys had a blast and it shows. Arizona definetly broughtthe best out of them and U2 responded with their best show of thetour.
