Grammy award winning country superstar Lynn Anderson filmed andrecorded live at The Renaissance Center, Dickson, TN in 2004, thisspectacular concert includes all of Andersons biggest chartingsingles such as Rose Garden, How Can I Unlove You, What A Man MyMan Is and many more. Both the cd and the dvd contains the sameshow -and it delivers where it counts, in the music. The sound issuch that there's very little audience ambience, but there's plentyof presence for the band and even more so for Lynn Anderson, who isin excellent form throughout. The Cd is great, but the Dvd is evenbetter, not only with an excellent visual account of the concertfrom the Renaissance Center in Dixon, TN, but also a nice selectionof bonus features -- before and after interviews and other supportmaterials. The camera angles vary sufficiently so that one neverfeels confined or static watching the show, and the full-screen(1.33-to-1) image is crisp enough to pass for HDTV. The audio ismastered a little low on the dvd but it pumps up well and cleanly,and in other details -- the menu's simplicity, the chapter breaks(one per song) -- the producers get everything right. Equallyimportant, and amazingly, Anderson still gives a great show 40-plusyears into her career; and she's got a first-rate band of skilledNashville veteran musicians playing banjo, piano, fiddle andmandolin. Anderson and the band rise to the occasion of her firstfull-length concert video in fine style in the environment, whichseems as personally friendly as it is music-friendly. She'sobviously having the time of her life, and never more so than whenshe's doing some of the material that's particularly special toher, as on "Under the Boardwalk."
