Vårjevndogn is a third Isengard album and features unreleasedvintage tracks from the solo-project that initially started in 1989by Fenriz, one the key driving forces behind the legendaryDarkthrone – due to him having many musical ideas he wanted toexplore that didn’t strictly fit in with the style and music of hismain band. Under the Isengard moniker, Fenriz released 2 albumsencapsulating Doom, Death, Black and Folk/Viking metal in the shapeof Vinterskugge and Hostmørke. Finally we welcome the thirdaddition to this cult project. After a period of 25 long yearssince Isengard’s last studio output, and having recently uneartheda set of tracks from his own archive of material recorded back inthose early glory days, this new series of tracks – which werethought to be lost – follow on from some of the metal last heard on1994’s Vinterskugge. Vårjevndogn presents a monumental slab of epicHeavy Metal mixed with a sombre Doomy Rock/Metal atmosphere,bringing to mind bands like US Heavy Metal veterans Pentagram.Everything on Vårjevndogn was performed and engineered by Fenrizhimself. The tracks were all recorded between 1989 and 1993 atNecrohell Studios (notable for birthing Darkthrone’s classicTransilvanian Hunger and Panzerfaust albums).
