The True Metal is the debut album fromthe Brazilian black thrash act Power From Hell. The album in itselfis Bathory worship, channelling the same kind of punked up-antiChristian vibe that drew us all to the Swedish legends back intheir very earliest days. Snarling vocals, driving, head smashingbeats and simplistic but effective riffs to summon forth the evilin man all recall a youthful Quorthon. The production is uber lowfi, as if recorded in a shed on the edge of Hades. Seriously – thisis just about demo quality. But that’s not a bad thing either,because Power From Hell are about raw energy and that is what thesound of this album brings.
