Skitzofrenik from Newcastle was aNWOBHM band that released one single on Terry Gavaghan’s verycollectable Guardian Records n Tapes label and also got two tracksonto the classic Roxcalibur compilation album in 1982. Thisultimate anthology features those studio tracks as well previouslyunreleased bonus material. The band was formed in 1979 and recordedfour demos before they split up in 1983. Their first demo wasrecorded at Impulse Studios in Redcar and the second demo wasrecorded in London. The third and fourth demo were recorded atGuardian Studios in Durham. But it wasnt these recordings that wereused for the compilation or for their single because the bandreturned to Guardian Studios twice more. When the band was aksed tocontribute to the Roxcalibur album they went back and re-recordingthe live favourite Exodus (from the third demo) as well as a newsong called, Keep Right On. For the fourth and last time theyreturned to Durham when they recorded the single Usa with LonelyRoads on the B-side. Here you have it all so its definitely theultitmate anthology of this band.
