Master Boot Recordis an electronic metal project composed entirely with synthesizedinstruments processing avant-garde chiptune, synthesized heavymetal and classical symphonic music. And just like his previousalbums, "C:\>COPY *.* A: /V" is the kind of album that will mostlikely appeal more to metalheads rather than purely Electronicmusic fans as it captures the essence of Metal attitude through itscompositions and concept. Master Boot Record composes Metal musicwhich is performed on Synthesizers, as opposed to trying forceElectronic music compositions to sound more Metal by addingelements such as screamo vocals or distorted guitars like manyother Electronic music (mainly Dubstep) artists who want to go downa more Metal route do for example. Of course Chiptune and Synthwavemusic fans have already been familiarised with a more Metal soundthrough artists like Gost or Volkor X and of course Carpenter Brutor Perturbator who have in the past gone down a more Metal path andhave contributed to closing the gap between the two worlds andsounds (whether with their music or in some cases marketing thatis). Yet Master Boot Record isn´t doing Synthwave music but Metalwith enough 80´s Electronic music influences that make his musicsound reminiscent of Synthwave at parts. I could literally keepgoing forever and continue pointing out reasons and differencesthat set artists like Master Boot Record, Gor FLsh or thecompletely under the radar Going To Hell In A Leather Jacket (whoeven though never got his music officially released deserves amention here for being one of the first artists to blend 80´sinfluenced Electronic music and Metal - in a very similar way asMaster Boot Record does) in a league of their own and so far apartthat the others. But I won´t bore you any longer with more ramblingabout Metal, Electronic music, Metal and just let you enjoy MasterBoot Record`s new album. Because to put it as simple as I can,"C:\>COPY *.* A: /V" is kicking ass and taking names!
