Heavy Rain Move Edition offers a new way to play Heavy Rain. The game uses the motion controls that the PlayStation Move controller provides. This translates the movements you make with the controller into the game.

Heavy Rain is a game that can be played as an interactive film, a thriller with dark film noir influences. As a player you follow the worries of four different characters, who each lead their own life and thus follow their own storyline. Yet there is one person connecting Ethan Mars, Scott Shelby, Madison Paige and Norman Jayden: the Origami Killer. This serial killer walks around freely in Heavy Rain and claims the necessary victims.

As a player you follow the four characters through various scenes. During these scenes you determine what happens: what questions do you ask? How do you walk through a room? What do you do when you have to kill time for a while? By examining locations, questioning characters and pressing the keys displayed on the screen at the right time during the various cutscenes, you as a player exert a profound influence on the course of the story.

In quiet scenes you have plenty of time to perform actions, but during action-packed moments like battles, you have limited time to successfully perform the actions. Depending on how often you miss a command, the sequence of the scene changes and can even lead to the death of one of the four characters. In that case you can continue the game with the other three main characters, although you will miss the storyline of the deceased character.
