The Bollweevilswere a British indie band formed in Sheffield, England, activebetween 1985 and 1993. Although first formed in 1985, TheBollweevils did not come together properly as a live act until1988. The first full line-up included Sarah Griffiths (vocals),Mark Johnson (lead guitar), Steve McKevitt (bass), Dave Lloyd(rhythm guitar), and Chris Coyle (drums). From their first gig TheBollweevils received favourable reviews. However, it was not untillate in March 1990, that their first single was released on theDecoy label, the self produced and critically well-received fourtrack Talk To Me EP. A second single was recorded in 1991 calledLifes A Scream but it was never released. Instead the band recordedand released the Mouth EP by the end of 1991. In 1992 the Japaneserecord label Toys Factory released a cd featuring all three EPs butthe band disbanded in 1993. The first pressing of the Talk To Mesingle was rejected because the hi-hat sound was damped on All TheSame. Only testpress copies exist of the first version.
