Californian gore-metallers Autopsy emerged in 1987 and had analmost immediate impact on the global underground metal scene. Theoriginal line-up consisted of Danny Coralles , Eric Cutler andfrontman Chris Reifert, who was already known due to his work asdrummer with Death, Florida´s highly-respected extreme metal combo.Autopsy´s debut album, `Severed Survival´ was unleashed in 1989 onPeaceville Records and the band went on to become true legends inthe death metal scene, recording 4 studio albums in total, beforesplitting up in the mid `90s. After a 15 year period which sawChris and Danny heavily involved with their band Abscess, it wastime to answer the wishes of fans worldwide and embark upon a freshspree of Autopsy brutality, so on 19th July 2010 the band enteredFantasy Studios with Adam Munoz to begin a new legacy, with theoriginal trio joined by Joe Trevisano on bass. `The Tomb Within´consists of 5 new tunes of gore and depravity, with cover artsupplied by renowned fantasy/horror artist Matt Cavotta.
