2020 saw the return of the classic NWOBHM act Elixir and thehighly anticipated sixth studio album, Voyage Of The Eagle. Thealbum was a proof that old soldiers never die as Elixir returnedwith a killer slab of of British Metal. The band featured fourmembers of the original line-up that created the highly acclaimedThe Son Of Odin album, voted one of the Top 20 Power Metal Albumsof All Time by Terrorizer Magazine in November 2005, and was namedClassic Album Of The Month in April 2010’s edition of Sweden RockMagazine. A year later the band had found a suitable replacementfor original bass player Kevin Dobbs in Mark Mulcaster. The bandwere eager to go out and play live with ther new line-up but due tothe covid restriction this wasnt possible. So instead the banddecided to release a special vinyl single for the track Drink ToThe Devil. This is the first vinyl single to be released on theElixir lbale since the 1985 Treachery single. Not only is this arare private pressed single it also features a fully signed insertand comes with a beautiful artwork from Duncan Storr. But this isntenough. The band has not only remastered the tracks they alsobrought in new member Mulcaster to re-record the bass lines for thetwo tracks. So this should be the perfect gift for any fan ofEnglish heavy metal.
