Polish act Hermh fourth album ColdBlood Messiah shows the quality in music-writing one could detecton Edens Fire but so much better. The major change is the keyboard,since the songs are now based on guitar and flavoured withkeyboards, not the other way around. The forty minutes of musichere is delightful. Frantic blasting and technical riffing is mixedwith bombastic choirs, spiced with subtle keyboard action andtopped off with a chunky production. This is so much more complexthan any of Hermhs earlier releases, with tons of different temposand nuances. There are no moments of filler-riffs, as each isplaced perfectly in accordance with the skilled drumming. Bartsvoice sounds much harsher and rawer then before, and this time hereally lets lose his inner demons with growl-like moments and deepchoirs. The tempo-variations are marvelous, the symphonies areterrific, the sound quality almost perfect and its all justbombastic-as-hell. When it comes to symphonic black metal then thiscould be the album of the year
