Luke Luv, founder of Frenchee, startedthe band back in 1983. The first singer was Tony Harnell whoeventually left Frenchee to join hardrock band TNT. Luke wanted aclean slate and start a new chapter of Frenchee, so he startedauditioning new band members. First he started with the bass playersituation. Two bass players from Queens NY answered the ad andwanted to come down to audition together as they were friends. Theywere Kelly Nickels and Punky Lazar. Luke decided on Punky and Kellywent to Los Angeles and joined a band called Faster Pussycat butgot into a bad motorcycle accident. Faster Pussycat had just singeda record deal and couldnt wait for Kelly to get out of his longhospital visit and had to replace him. Kelly then joined L.A.Gunsinstead and performed bass on their 3 first albums. Luke likedPunky for his glam image and solid and melodic bass playing. Itturned out to be the right fit. Next thing on Lukes agenda wasfinding the right charismatic good looking singer frontman. WellSable Sex answered the ad and Sable didnt get the nickname Sex fornothing. Sables motto was Sables The Name Sex Is The Game The ManGets All The Dames And Theyre Never The Same. When Sable arrivedto audition he walked down the stairs with a hot chick on each armand sounded and looked the part. But it was the crazy off the wallpersonality that won him the job as Frenchees fearless leader. Wowhe found the right frontman that was just as crazy and partied justas hard as him and Punky. 6 months earlier Sable meet soon to bedrummer Niki Shea at a Rock Nightclub called LAmours the rockcapitol of Brooklyn. Niki Shea was on tour at the time with a bandopening up for Warlock. Sable called Niki and told him he joined apromising rock band called Frenchee with a record company interestfrom Polygram Records and we need a drummer and your the first onethat came to mind to complete the Ultimate Glam Sleaze Band. Wellthe east cost tour was just finishing up for Niki. So he came downfor the audition. Luke, Punky and Sable all gave the thumbs up andproceeded to celebrate with a dozen bottles of champagne. Markingthe beginning of Frenchees crazy booze and sex filled debauchery.And Frenchee soon became notorious for there drunken backstage sexpartys. Even the Groupies Moms werent safe! Some on tour storiescant be told. The band released the Lipstick Ammunition mini albumin 1987 and this compilation album features that mini albumtogether with no less than 10 bonus tracks and a radio interviewfrom 1985.
