On a multi-stepped round base. Unpainted.
White, glazed.
Signed on the base:
K. HIMMELSTOSS (embossed);
Marked on the underside: manufacturer's mark in green, under glaze,
3 girls in long dresses, one lady with bare breast, each lifting a foot in a dancing pose. Himmelstoss was inspired by the dancing sisters Elsa, Berta and Grete Wiesenthal from Austria. At the Werkbund exhibition in Cologne in 1914, this dance group was said to be one of the most outstanding pieces shown there.
This wonderful piece is listed in Emmy Niecol's reference book, volume 2, page 174/175.
