The Zeiss Distagon T* is regarded by many serious reviewers as the best-performing vintage 28mm f2.8 lens. Many also regard 28mm to be the ideal focal length for carry-around, especially when photographing in tight interiors. The T* refers to the industry-leading multi-coating, widely regarded as still the best in the business. It reduces flare and the resulting veiling and improves contrast significantly. Zeiss is known for neutral rendering and a tendency to exhibit something like 3D "pop". The build quality and user comfort is also regarded as the best in the industry. It is widely sought after and used today by videographers and cinematographers, sometimes in modern, top-selling movies. It can be used on digital cameras with widely available and inexpensive adapters (see the last photo, taken with a Sony A7r3 full-frame digital camera). Some adapt these lenses for use on Hollywood-level pro cinema cameras. Therefore prices are going up, so a good investment.

This lens (AEJ version) is in great condition, with very little dust, no haze, no oil on the aperture blades, no haze, no fungus, no cleaning marks and no visible scratches. The clean aperture blades snap properly, the focus ring is butter-smooth, and the padded-grip aperture ring turns with just the right amount of force, and clicks distinctly. A joy to use.

The RTS II is considered by many to be "lagom"--just right--between the RTS and RTS III (with built-in winder). It is solid, robust and the viewfinder is a deight and easy to use, even in low light because of the lighted alpha-numeric displays. All the info is there (see photo). Please do a web search to find all the top-level specifications and features. This one is fully functional and has been tested with film. The winning bid will likely be lower because of the ding-dent when another camera fell from a shelf. There is no internal damage at all. If you're looking for functionality, along with a great lens investment, and not a shelf queen, this is for you.

The camera is sold as-is, with no guarantee and no returns.
