Estonian Stories is a film project which started in 2003, where different film-makers annually created twelve 30-minute documentaries. The films focus on Estonia's people and present social topics. These documentaries are aimed to be viewed on television broadcasting and are created with a rather low budget financed by Estonian Public Broadcasting, Estonian Film Foundation, and Estonian Culture Endowment.
1. Hunt = Wolf / Allfilm ; režissöör Priit Valkna ; produtsent Artur Talvik (28 min.).
A documentary about life in an Estonian village, where people even today are ready to declare a fight against a werewolf. Based on a true story, the film will investigate the parameters used when calling somebody a werewolf.
2. Osta elevant ära = Buy an elephant / Rühm Pluss Null ; režissöörid Õnne Luha ja Meelis Muhu; produtsent Erik Norkroos (26 min.).
Once a month the Hostess invites five or six ladies to an unforgettable demonstration of cleaning products. During the three-hour program, each participant will act as a cleaner.
3. 6 tundi = 6 hours / Allfilm ; režissöör Rein Kotov ; produtsent Kätlin Jensen (28 min.).
In the summers big cruise ships arrived in Tallinn, each carrying abroad over 1000 passengers who will stay in Tallinn for six hours. The cruisers will quickly pass important sites, will eat, and leave. Tallinn was just another stop on their long voyage.
4. Lehmakauplemine = Cow bargaining / Osakond ; autor Kristo Kiiker ; režissöör Aivo Spitsonok (27 min.).
Near the Latvian border, amid swamps and forests, in Lanksaare life has its own pace. Popular and desired Estonian native cow breeds, bred at a farm, are the only reason that will take the two main characters out of Lanksaare.
5. Maja = Living together / Allfilm ; režissöör Mart Arjukese ; produtsent Kätlin Jensen (27 min.).
A tragicomic story about men's inability to share a block of flats. It's not easy to find a common language even to change an electric bulb, not to mention the boozing neighbors. to the rescue comes Jüri, after a professional chairman of meetings.
6. Lehelapse suvi = Summer of newspaper kid / Vesilind ; režissöör Katri Rannastu ; operaator Joosep Matjus ; produtsent Riho Västrik (28 min.).
9-year-old schoolboy, Martin decides to sell newspapers during his summer vacation. The boring routine work will push the child into a world of adults, we have a meet a competitor, a suicide maker, and a cheater.
7. Maailmameister = World champion / Osakond ; režissöör Moonika Siimets ; produtsent Mari Kallas (30 min.).
Old school gentleman Herbert Sepp has the age 83 written on his passport. This is the only thing he has in common with his same-age peers. Herbert can stand on his head, throw cartwheels, and do pole vaults. He is Estonia's best veteran sportsman in his age group.
8. Helene elukool = Helene's school of life / Alasti kino ; režissöör Liis Nimik ; produtsent Kristjan Pütsep (29 min.).
23-year-old Helen has chosen her first real job to be a teacher of natural science at a small countryside school. The film follows her during the first school year through her small victories and losses.
